Job Summary
Conduct daily operations for the women's shelter by supervising residents, managing inventory, and ensuring a safe environment through conflict resolution and crisis intervention. Coordinate team tasks, maintain accurate HMIS data and facility documentation, and address immediate basic needs for incoming residents. Perform comprehensive safety inspections, oversee laundry and meal operations, and respond to 24-hour inquiries while making independent decisions aligned with agency policies. Maintain shift-to-shift communication and attend mandatory training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Two years of experience working in human services
- Valid NYS Driver's License that will meet The Salvation Army's insurance requirements
- Knowledge of social service resources within Central New York's community
- At least one year experience working in office environment
- Clerical skills including phone etiquette, filing, computer skills
- Ability to manage several tasks and projects
- Intermediate to Advanced Computer skills including MS Office suite, Internet/Search Techniques
Desired Qualifications
- Associated degree
- One year of experience preferred
- Prior experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
- Prior experience working in a team lead role
