Resident Assistant

Assist residents with daily living activities including grooming, eating, dressing, bathing, and toileting while encouraging maximum functional capability. Guide residents through range of motion exercises, ambulation, and positioning to increase quality of living. Prepare and maintain records documenting client progress and report changes in condition to the manager or supervisor. Maintain a safe and clean environment by changing bed linens, cleaning rooms and dining areas, and performing waste disposal. Perform healthcare-related tasks such as monitoring vital signs and administering medication under the direction of a nurse, and collect specimens for testing using proper safety precautions. Serve prepared food and guide residents in eating using proper techniques and tableware.
