Resident Assistant/Caregiver

Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility while engaging them in meaningful conversation and socialization. Observe residents for changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions and report promptly to a licensed nurse. Complete documentation such as incident reports and behavior tracking, and assist with dining room duties, laundry, and housekeeping tasks like making beds and cleaning common areas. Encourage participation in scheduled activities and outings, and maintain resident rooms, clothing closets, and equipment per community schedules. Answer phones as needed and treat residents, families, and visitors in a courteous, helpful, and friendly manner. Work full-time or part-time shifts including weekends and holidays, adhering to OSHA blood-borne pathogen exposure protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work full-time or part-time as agreed upon, on assigned shift, including weekend and holiday rotations
- Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Must be able to see well enough to write and read, and to visually interact with residents, families, and staff
- Must be able to speak and hear well enough to verbally interact with residents, families and staff
