Job Summary
Follow facility protocol for admission documentation and HIPAA compliance by protecting resident protected health information. Prepare residents for meals, serve trays, and accurately record oral intakes. Assist with transfers, lifting, and positioning immobile residents every two hours while utilizing proper body mechanics. Monitor temperatures, obtain urine samples, and track weights and intake/output as needed. Clean units weekly, including IV poles and carts, and maintain rooms in a neat, clutter-free environment. Deliver supplies to resident rooms and assist with dressing, orientation, and terminal cleaning. Recognize changes in resident conditions and report accurate results to superiors. This role supports professional staff in an interim housing healthcare agency focused on helping people experiencing homelessness heal and reclaim their futures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience as a CNA
- Current BLS certification
- Able to read, understand, and follow individual resident care plans
- Able to obtain and record resident's temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, intake/output
- Able to meet all health, compliance and competency requirements
- Detail oriented with effective time management, organizational, written, verbal, and computer skills
- Knowledge of infection control procedures, including proper hand washing techniques, contact with blood spills, and standard precautions
- Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and with minimal supervision
- Experience completing medication logs to accepted industry standards
- Minimum 30 WPM typing speed
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
