Job Summary
Conduct security rounds to ensure clients adhere to shelter policies, enforce rules, and administer NARCAN or first aid when necessary. Assist clients in programs like VA, RRH, and HIPP while connecting them to resources, and manage bed checks and assignments. Oversee meal times to ensure clients receive food and maintain kitchen order, while verifying that chore workers complete their duties or finding replacements. Record all resident interactions in VESTA and provide emotional support to residents struggling with addiction. Administer A/D outreach for clients facing substance abuse challenges. Work weekends and holidays as scheduled, requiring 90% of time spent walking and the ability to lift 30lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- 1 year customer service experience
- Knowledge or experience in working with the homeless, mentally ill, and/or substance abusing populations
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be proactive
- Ability to work in a high energy environment
- Ability to de-escalate situations when they start to get out of hand
- Ability to check one's emotions when clients become rude or disrespectful
- Must be able to lift 30lbs
