Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, toileting, and transferring. Provide support to encourage independence and offer medication reminders. Transport residents in wheelchairs and to campus activities, then conduct clean-up. Set up dining room items, manage menu selection, and deliver trays. Maintain daily service logs and communicate resident information to staff or emergency personnel. Build positive relationships with residents and respond flexibly to changing situations. Follow facility policies for record keeping, attend training, and perform evacuation duties if needed. Work 2pm to 10:30pm shifts on rotating weekdays and weekends with base pay and shift differentials.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a diverse group of people
- Ability and willingness to work harmoniously within a team environment departmentally
- Aptitude for detail work as well as understand and meet job responsibility time frames
- Ability to determine, understand and maintain cleanliness issues
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
- Must meet general health requirements as set forth by this facility
- Must be able to manually push, pull, and/or move, a minimum of 50 pounds frequently for brief periods of time
- Must be able to manually lift a minimum of 10 pounds frequently for brief periods of time
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit and bend frequently for moderate periods of time
- May be requested to work over scheduled hours, weekends and holidays when necessary
- Individual will be scheduled based on operational need
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Prior care giving experience preferred
