Job Summary
Resident Advisor role overseeing student residents in Kingston, Ontario. Live-in RA responsible for facilitating social and educational programs, enforcing Residence Community Living Standards, maintaining confidentiality, supporting student success, and serving as a positive role model. Requires part-time availability (0-16 hours/week), full-time student enrollment, GPA maintenance, strong verbal and customer-service skills, leadership aptitude, First Aid and CPR Level C certification, and a criminal record check. The position emphasizes program planning (minimum one social and one educational program per month), community development, safety, and collaboration with residence staff to resolve conflicts and support residents.
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at the institution where the candidate will be working.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 65% throughout the duration of their employment.
- Must possess superior verbal communication skills.
- Must possess above average customer service skills.
- Must possess superior attitude towards learning.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects at once.
- A passion for leadership; excellent communication skills; positive attitude; team player.
- Demonstrated positive contribution to the residence community (and a clean student conduct record).
- Previous leadership experience is an asset.
- Independent completion of “Standard First Aid” & CPR Level “C” (must be valid for the duration of the contract);
- Valid Criminal Record Check (will be conducted by Residence Management for successful candidates only)
