Job Summary
Residency Core Faculty duties include teaching/advising residents and fellows, supporting and delivering an engaging learning curriculum, ensuring compliance with ACGME standards, overseeing faculty and program coordination, participating in resident recruitment and evaluation, mentoring residents, maintaining an educational environment aligned with competency milestones, contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, and engaging in scholarly activity and professional development under the Residency Program Director – Partner. Must hold ABMS certification or eligibility, an active medical license (MD or DO), and Physician Partner status; leadership/mentorship experience with residents is required.
Required Qualifications
- Physician with current, valid American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) certification or eligibility in relevant field/specialty and an active unrestrictive state license to practice medicine by the state medical board required
- Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required
- Maintain membership and privileges on Hospital’s medical staff and comply with and abide by the bylaws, rules and regulations, and the policies and procedures of Hospital’s medical staff where services are being provided required
- Physician Partner status required
- Experience with leadership/mentorship of residents required
- Scholarly activity within the last five years preferred
- Clinical and academic experience to ensure effective implementation of the ACGME program requirements
- Proficient working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Ability to facilitate networking opportunities and create an environment that fosters mentorship and promotes the career advancement of Physician fellows
- Comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies, educational administration, and hospital policies
- Ability to stay updated with the latest advancements, new developments, research, guidelines, and best practices in the relevant field/specialty
- Demonstrated proficiency at providing excellent patient care
- Strong teaching skills to effectively educate and mentor resident physicians
- Ability to communicate complex medical concepts in a clear and concise manner, use various teaching methods and techniques, and provide constructive feedback to support residents' learning and professional development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals
- Active listening skills and the ability to provide clear instructions and feedback and foster a positive learning environment
- Effective collaboration and teamwork skills
- Ability to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity, including adhering to ethical guidelines, demonstrating a commitment to patient-centered care, maintaining confidentiality, and serving as a professional role model for residents
