Job Summary
Residence Program Specialist position responsible for supporting the care, development, and independence of individuals living in an ADAPT Community Network residential facility. Responsibilities include providing direct support, teaching activities of daily living, maintaining a safe, homelike environment, participating in interdisciplinary treatment plans, documenting daily activities and progress, responding to crises and medical emergencies, contacting emergency personnel as needed, following behavior management guidelines, administering medications as AMAP under nursing supervision, providing transportation, assisting with meal planning and shopping, contributing to housekeeping and maintenance, attending staff trainings, and promoting dignity and person-centered approaches while maintaining resident confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- AMAP (Medication Administration Personnel) certification or ability to obtain at hire or within six months
- Valid New York State Driver’s License
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to respond to crisis situations and make sound decisions under pressure
- Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding residents' rights
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
