Job Summary
Residence Assistant to support individuals who reside in HKNC residence with training, recreation, communication, and personal development goals; provide human guide and accompany consumers during community activities, facilitate in-house activities, assist with daily living tasks and with unplanned activities, support residence protocols for recreation, assist with the delivery of mail/packages, accompany consumers to hospital as needed, assist with evacuations and homework/projects, and participate in cross-communication with the assigned team; requires an Associate’s degree or two years of college (60 credits) or a high school diploma with four years of paid experience in residence/group home work with individuals who have intellectual disabilities; one year of experience with blind/Deaf/DeafBlind or severely disabled individuals; MS Office and Internet proficiency; NYS Driver's License; schedule includes evenings and weekends; compensation includes a rate of $22.944/hour with a total annualized compensation of approximately $47,724; benefits package available.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, or completion of two years of college (60 credits) preferably within the education or health related field of study required OR High school diploma and four years of paid experience as a residence/group home aide working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities required.
- One year of experience in work with blind, Deaf, DeafBlind, or severely disabled individuals. Knowledge of MS Office and Internet required.
- NYS Driver's License required.
