Job Summary
Reserve Patrolman for the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma focused on preventive patrol, crime prevention, response to calls, preliminary investigations, traffic enforcement, and emergency services within patrol districts including Pottawatomie, Lincoln, or Oklahoma County. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, valid Oklahoma driver’s license, ability to pass criminal background and drug/alcohol tests, and strong communication skills; English required with Kickapoo language a plus. Emphasis on confidentiality, ability to work independently and in teams, and maintaining professional conduct under high-stress conditions; at-will employment with Indian Preference.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain a HIGH level of confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Able to work under high stress
- Must have valid Oklahoma drivers’ license
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time performing repetitive work at the computer
- English language necessary and Kickapoo language a plus
- Must possess the ability to work responsively with effective communication skills both written and oral
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
