Job Summary

Design rigorous research protocols for cluster RCTs, implementation science, and mixed-methods studies while driving proposal development, grant management, and ethical reviews. Supervise research teams and field operations to ensure data quality and SOP adherence, developing advanced statistical analysis plans using R, STATA, SPSS, SAS, or Python. Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present to academic, policy, and practitioner audiences through collaboration with government, academia, and community partners. Mentor early-career researchers and contribute to institutional capacity building. This role supports CEL's mission to transform maternal and newborn care across India and the Global South by blending scientific rigor with compassionate innovation.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD, MD, DrPH, or equivalent advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Paediatrics, or a related field
  • Publication record
  • Proven experience in securing competitive research grants
  • Expertise in implementation research, epidemiology, biostatistics, and mixed methods approaches
  • Experience leading or being part of multisite research teams working in low-resource settings
  • Deep understanding of ethical guidelines, research governance, and donor compliance standards
  • Ability to lead the design of rigorous research protocols (cluster RCTs, implementation science, mixed-methods studies)
  • Ability to drive/support proposal development, donor reporting, grant management, and ethical reviews
  • Ability to supervise research teams, field operations, and ensure data quality and adherence to SOPs
  • Ability to develop advanced statistical analysis plans using R, STATA, or equivalent tools, including SPSS, SAS, or Python libraries (e.g., pandas, stats models)
  • Ability to publish/contribute in peer-reviewed journals and present findings to academic, policy, and practitioner audiences
  • Ability to collaborate with government, academia, frontline health workers, and community partners
  • Ability to mentor early-career researchers and contribute to institutional research capacity building
  • Location: Anywhere in Uttar Pradesh (India)
