Job Summary
Conduct technical duties for sugarcane research, including processing juice and fiber samples, assisting with plant care and seed processing, and collecting field data for harvesting and Brix determination. Maintain accurate records of data and provide timely reports to scientists while operating a motor vehicle as required. Perform greenhouse and laboratory maintenance, including watering, fertilizing, and hybridizing plants. This role involves 50% sample processing, 30% facility support, and 40% field work, with travel to remote sites via ground transportation. Applicants must have at least 10 years of team experience or a BA/BS degree, and must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in working as a member or leader of a team toward a common goal
- Previous experience keeping accurate records, following assigned protocols, and recognizing unexpected deviations to expected results
- BA/BS Degree
- Ability to work in a team setting with frequent last-minute changes in plans
- Experience required with Windows, MS Excel
- Operation of a motor vehicle may be required
