Job Summary
Research Technician III in the Jolley Lab at CHOP participates in planned pediatric cardiovascular research projects by performing protocols with minimal direction. Responsibilities include building computer models of pediatric heart valves from 3D ultrasound, associating clinical data with models to study valve dysfunction mechanisms, modeling transcatheter devices, and using virtual reality and 3D printing to visualize pediatric hearts. The role involves contributing to study design, IRB approval, data analysis, and preparation of reports, presentations, or manuscripts; training and mentoring new staff; and maintaining organized lab records. Candidates should have strong problem-solving, analytical, and communications skills, and will work within a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, cardiac imagers, interventional cardiologists, computer scientists, and engineers. Strong emphasis on translational research and exposure to pediatric cardiology, pediatric cardiac surgery, and pediatric cardiac anesthesia. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Annual influenza vaccine required for patient-care employees
- Two or more years of related laboratory/bench experience (or successful completion of a technical training program)
