Job Summary
Conduct mouse husbandry and colony management for transgenic and conditional knock-out mice while maintaining specimen inventory databases. Collect and analyze data, monitor protocol adherence, and report deviations to the principal investigator. For Research Technician II, identify methodological problems, assist in experiment design, and prepare progress reports. For Research Technician III, perform DNA and RNA extraction, execute in vitro cell culture, and manage tissue sample storage. Maintain detailed experimental records with high accuracy and attend project meetings. Proficient with real-time PCR technology and statistical analyses.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework
- 5 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework (or equivalent combination of advanced degree and work experience)
