Job Summary
Mass spectrometry sample preparation for proteomics and metabolomics, including preparation of protein samples and extraction of metabolites/lipids, following established SOPs. Assists with data collection, data entry, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and records. Performs general lab tasks, documentation, and supports the research team in a wet-lab environment with exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Preferred qualifications include an associate or bachelor’s degree and experience in a laboratory setting, as well as proteomics/metabolomics experience and the ability to work independently and troubleshoot equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proteomics or mass spec sample preparation experience (preferred)
- Experience with proteomics/metabolomics research (preferred)
- Ability to follow SOPs
- Basic math for lab solvents
- Data entry and data integrity
- Independent work and communication with supervisor and coworkers
- Multitasking skills desired
