Job Summary
Conduct behavioral assays in mice for NIH-funded projects, including planning, executing, and organizing data from operant food and drug self-administration, locomotor, and cognitive tests. Act as a liaison with animal care personnel to ensure safety compliance, monitor experimental mouse health and diet, and manage supply ordering and vendor communications. Perform survival surgeries on rodents such as jugular catheter implantation and cannulae placement, while assisting with immunohistochemistry, tissue imaging, and single neuron electrical activity recording. Requires a bachelor's degree in biological sciences, statistical proficiency, and advanced computer skills for data acquisition. Full-time Monday through Friday role with competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in one of the biological sciences, physics, chemistry, or related area such as psychology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- basic understanding of laboratory procedures
- experience or the ability to learn statistical procedures
- methods and practices typical to neuroscience
- advanced computer skills (or the ability to learn those skills) including data acquisition, Microsoft Office software, order processing, and methods for backing up data

Desired Qualifications
