Job Summary
Assist scientists with laboratory and investigative procedures, performing assays and imaging experiments, and supporting various technical duties to advance surgical research. Responsibilities include recording detailed procedures and results, potential tissue & cell culture activities, animal husbandry or handling of human subjects as needed, molecular biology work (PCR, DNA/protein electrophoresis, cloning, DNA prep), biochemistry assays (including western blotting and RT-PCR), microscopic imaging analyses, sample handling and logistics, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring safe laboratory practices. The role involves data analysis, training new personnel, helping plan and carry out experiments, literature searches, and contributing to publications and posters. Education required is a Bachelor's Degree with some bench lab experience; the position requires flexibility in hours and may involve work with hazardous materials.
