Job Summary
Conduct independent research and support the research mission of the Nordman lab by performing molecular cloning, Western blotting, and protein purification. Maintain and organize Drosophila stocks, including preparing culture medium and other laboratory reagents. Order and receive laboratory supplies while managing day-to-day lab operations with a detail-oriented approach. Collaborate within the team to facilitate issue resolution involving personnel, financial management, and equipment orders. This role is ideal for recent graduates or motivated applicants with a Bachelor's degree in biology or biochemistry to gain valuable research experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the fields of Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related area
- Prior experience performing laboratory research
- Ability to work with others in a mutually respectful environment that values honesty, integrity and accountability
Desired Qualifications
- college level courses in genetics and biochemistry
- at least one year of experience working in a lab or company that focuses on molecular biology
- Experience working with Drosophila
