Job Summary
Provide specialist technical and scientific support for poultry behaviour and welfare research projects. Undertake detailed coding and analysis of animal behaviour from video to support automated monitoring systems. Contribute to experimental design, data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports, publications, and presentations. Coordinate research and commercial trials, including scheduling, logistics, stakeholder communication, and on-site activities. Manage laboratory and field infrastructure, monitoring equipment, procedures, and compliance with ethics and safety requirements. Provide technical training and guidance to students and researchers in research methods, animal welfare practices, and use of equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a degree in animal science, veterinary bioscience, biology or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of animal behaviour and welfare
- strong commitment to ethical research practice
- Bring experience contributing technical, laboratory, field or analytical support to successful research projects
- Possess excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities and deliver projects within agreed timeframes
- Apply practical knowledge of research compliance, including animal ethics, biosafety and occupational health and safety
- Engage confidently with students, colleagues and industry partners, building collaborative relationships across disciplines
- You must have current valid work rights for Australia
