Job Summary
The Research Specialist will support two NIH-funded dementia and health disparities projects through data management, participant recruitment and scheduling, data analysis, and community outreach within the Swallowing & Salivary Bioscience Lab (SSBL) led by Dr. Rogus-Pulia, contributing to translational research aiming to improve care and outcomes for older adults with dysphagia and related health disparities. Responsibilities include literature reviews, programmatic data analyses, adherence to research protocols and IRB requirements, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and dissemination of results through reports and presentations. Strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team are essential. The role may involve both on-site activities in Madison, WI and remote work portions, with a 24-month terminal appointment starting at $55,000 annually, negotiable based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum one year of experience in epidemiology, health services, or related research field
- Experience with research study recruitment and registry maintenance
- Experience communicating with a variety of audiences
- Experience working within clinical and/or health services research protocols
- Experience with dementia populations
- Demonstrated experience with populations with dementia
