Job Summary
Prepare and test novel catalysts for catalytic degradation of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in water. Design and conduct lab experiments, analyze experimental data, and prepare project reports. Publish results in reputable journals and attend regular group meetings to assure adequate research progress. This role requires a four-year university degree with two years of technical research experience, with a preferred Ph.D. in chemistry or related fields. Candidates must reside in California within commutable distance of SDSU. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background check clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent to graduation from a four year university
- Two years of experience in technical research or statistical work experience
- Candidate must reside in California and live within a commutable distance from SDSU at time of hire
- Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on background check results (including a criminal record check)
Desired Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical/environmental engineering, or related disciplines
- Knowledge on catalyst preparation and testing
- Experience in experiments on sorption/desorption, catalysis, and redox processes
- Knowledge with related analytical instruments
- Good English writing skills
