Job Summary

Develop advanced power and thermal management technologies for military and commercial applications by designing, building, and validating prototype systems. Conduct experimental research in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and micro-fluidics while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and identify solution pathways. Analyze data, interpret results, and refine designs using sound engineering judgment to contribute to innovative R&D initiatives within the Power and Thermal-Fluids group. Join the Central Research Laboratory, the world's leading provider of infrared sensors, where innovations span from the James Webb Space Telescope to atomic clocks.

Required Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • Strong technical background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Hands-on laboratory and experimental research experience
  • Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and technical problem-solving
  • US citizenship due to access restrictions

Desired Qualifications

  • 0–5 years of experience
  • Higher experience considered
  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, Icepak, Workbench)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in dynamic, cross-functional teams
  • Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and developing cutting-edge technologies
