Research scientist / Study Director (in vivo models of obesity / type 2 diabetes)

Job Summary
Design and oversee client studies in close collaboration with the team of scientists and technicians to evaluate the efficacy of new therapies for metabolic diseases. Contribute to the development of new in vivo models of obesity and type 2 diabetes, as well as associated comorbidities, as part of internal R&D studies. Implement strategic approaches for validating preclinical models based on market demand. Develop study plans, cost estimates, and research timelines to meet client requests, and prepare ethics committee protocols for official authorization. Oversee efficacy studies daily, analyze generated data and statistics to draft study reports, and liaise with clients to provide data updates throughout the study. Propose new areas of research to company management based on market needs.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in pharmacology, physiology, metabolism, nutrition, biology, or another relevant field
- Excellent knowledge of animal models of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and associated comorbidities
- At least 2 years of experience in the field of metabolism (including postdoctoral work), ideally in biotech or pharma
- Good command of English
- Intermediate proficiency in French
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual candidates
- Solid scientific experience in the field of obesity and type 2 diabetes, as well as related comorbidities (e.g., MASH or nephropathy)
- Good understanding of the pathophysiology and pharmacology of these diseases
- Good understanding of in vivo preclinical issues
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in generating reliable scientific data and sharing their expertise with our clients
- Scientific agility to collaborate with multidisciplinary scientific teams
