Job Summary
Conduct independent research in colloidal and interfacial phenomena with applications in soft matter and energy engineering. Design and execute experimental studies and computational simulations to investigate colloidal assembly, soft matter dynamics, and interfacial transport using MATLAB, Python, and COMSOL. Develop new experimental platforms integrating custom instrumentation and manage research projects, budgets, and technical reports. Mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers while communicating outcomes through publications and conferences. Maintain a safe laboratory environment and seek expanded funding and collaborations. Full-time exempt position with benefits eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Advanced colloidal experimental apparatus, including optical tweezers operations and principles, design of Helmholtz coils for time-varying magnetic control, and optical microscopy
- Advanced computational and modeling in colloidal assemblies using MATLAB, Python, COMSOL, and image analysis tools
- Conducting data analysis, numerical simulation, and visualization of transport-reaction processes
