Job Summary
Conduct research and development in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, designing, implementing, and evaluating AI-based methods with a focus on Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, and deep learning. Analyze and evaluate AI systems regarding security, robustness, and trustworthy deployment while contributing to publicly funded research projects and collaborative industry efforts. Prepare scientific documentation, project reports, and research publications, then present findings at national and international conferences. Requires a degree in Computer Science or Mathematics with ML expertise; offers a two-year fixed-term contract with 39-hour weekly hours, flexible working arrangements, and a location near Darmstadt Central Station.
Required Qualifications
- A completed degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on Machine Learning, particularly Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Strong knowledge of machine learning and deep learning
- Familiarity with common neural network architectures, including Transformers, 1D Convolutional Neural Networks (1D CNNs), and related models
- Solid understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts such as classification, regression, hyperparameter optimization, fine-tuning, debiasing, and AI model evaluation
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of and practical experience in cybersecurity
