Job Summary
Lead research and development for chemical-product innovations, acting as technical lead to design and conduct laboratory experiments (including synthesis, sample preparation, and performance characterization) to develop new offerings or optimize manufacturing processes. Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and software, maintain detailed lab notebooks, and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations. Collaborate with chemists, engineers, and manufacturing specialists to drive project objectives, create new testing processes, and implement safety, regulatory, and quality-control measures. Take ownership of sub-projects, mentor entry-level scientists and technicians, operate group instruments, contribute to IP through disclosures and publications, and present results to internal and external stakeholders. Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to inform strategies and opportunities for process improvements and scale-up for large-scale manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline and 6+ years of experience
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline and 4+ years of experience
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
