Job Summary
Professional scientific role assisting in generation and analysis of molecular data to support plant pest regulatory activities. Develops and analyzes molecular-based diagnostic assays and analytical methods (including PCR, qPCR, Sanger sequencing, and next-generation sequencing) and constructs bioinformatic pipelines. Performs routine molecular lab techniques involving DNA/RNA, disseminates methodological information, writes and reviews manuscripts, and communicates findings to scientists and partners. Requires GLP knowledge, data organization and analysis, effective task prioritization, and strong written and verbal communication; occasional travel is required.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in agriculture, or one of the biological, physical, or natural sciences.
- Possession of a valid driver license.
