Job Summary

Senior Scientific Director role in Emergency Medicine research leading across study design, analytic planning, data analysis, interpretation of findings, manuscript development, and grant proposal preparation. Provides methodological leadership, ensures scientific rigor and reproducibility, supports grant competitiveness, and disseminates results from federally funded and investigator-initiated projects. Collaborates with faculty investigators, trainees, and leadership; mentors research staff; oversees complex clinical and translational research activities; and contributes to strategic research planning and cross-functional collaboration across Data Science, Research Operations, and informatics. Requires PhD-level training and a strong track record in study design, biostatistics, reproducible research practices, and a history of peer-reviewed scholarly output.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD, DrPH, ScD, or equivalent doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, clinical investigation, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field
  • Minimum seven years of progressively responsible postdoctoral research experience in an academic medical center, research institution, or similarly complex research environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced study design, biostatistical methods, epidemiologic methods, and reproducible research practices
  • Record of peer-reviewed scholarly publications and scientific dissemination activities
  • Experience supporting federally funded research projects and grant proposal development
  • Proficiency with statistical and data analysis software such as R, SAS, Stata, or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex research projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
