Job Summary
Research Scientist, Applied Science focused on translating AI/ML and computational biology into real-world therapeutic discovery. Requires PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, or related field, with a proven track record in top-tier AI/ML and/or biology venues, and experience turning research into practical scientific impact through collaborations with academic, biotech, or pharmaceutical partners. Responsibilities include designing and supporting computational discovery campaigns in protein engineering, antibody discovery, binder design, or related therapeutic discovery efforts; collaborating with experimental scientists to guide decisions; applying AI for structural biology or drug discovery; leading collaborations with external research partners; and leveraging software engineering practices and open-source contributions.
Required Qualifications
- PhD (or evidence of equivalent level of expertise) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, or a related technical field
- Proven track record in research and innovation demonstrated through contributions in top-tier AI/ML (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICLR) and/or core biology (Nature/Science/Cell) journals and conferences
- Experience translating machine learning research into real-world scientific impact through collaborations with academic, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical partners
- Experience designing, executing, or supporting computational discovery campaigns in protein engineering, antibody discovery, binder design, or related therapeutic discovery efforts
- Experience working closely with experimental scientists and using experimental results to guide decisions
- Prior experience in AI for structural biology or drug discovery in academic or industry settings
- Motivated and self-driven with ability to operate with partial descriptions of high-level objectives (start-up environment)
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices (version controlling, documentation), and open-source contributions
