Independent scholarly research under a mentor in the Khandros lab focusing on hematology-related projects, with responsibilities including project planning, data recording/evaluation, and communication of results. The role involves developing new methods and protocols, acquiring lab management and grant-writing skills, participating in seminars and national meetings, and possibly supervising junior lab members. Expertise in molecular biology, epigenetics, or computational biology is welcome but not required. The position emphasizes cutting-edge techniques such as CRISPR screening, multi-omics approaches, and cell-based studies to understand fetal hemoglobin reactivation and red blood cell biology in disease contexts.
