Job Summary
Freelance, project-based Research Physicist/AI Trainer sought to design optics problems that mirror real physics research workflows. Responsibilities include creating original optics problems that are computationally intensive, developing problems requiring non-trivial reasoning across mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics, grounding tasks in real research challenges, and providing clearly documented problem statements with verified correct answers. Ideal candidates have a Physics degree, 2+ years of related experience, experience with numerical simulations, and strong written English. The role involves ~10–20 hours per week during active phases and pays up to $29/hour equivalent (annualized to $60,320). Remote options are available from Italy (Italy-wide remote, Milan, and Rome areas).
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or related fields
- 2+ years of professional experience: applied, research, or teaching experience is applicable
- Experience with numerical simulation methods
- Ability to design problems that mirror real physics research workflows
- Creative thinking in problem design across diverse physics areas
- Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques
- Strong written English (C1+)
