Job Summary
Research Manager (expert-led Strategy & Insights) leads cross-functional engagement teams on client projects in Japan, overseeing scoping, development, closing, and delivery of market research, pitch materials, and reports; drives business development and collaboration with internal teams in Japan; seeks candidates with ~5 years in strategy consulting or research, exposure to Industrials, Technology and Life Sciences, strong consulting toolkit (storytelling, client communication, stakeholder management, project management), proficiency in English and Japanese, MS Office, entrepreneurial mindset, and high attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum ~5 years’ experience at a strategy consulting or research firm
- Experience supporting Industrials, Technology and Life Sciences projects is desirable but a generalist mindset and ability to pivot across multiple industries is essential
- Solid core consulting skills including slide-making, storytelling, client communication, stakeholder management, project management
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships
- Superior written and oral communication skills in the Japanese business context
- Full business proficiency in English and Japanese is mandatory
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Entrepreneurial zeal and track record working in a close team environment
- Think creatively with attention to detail and initiative to handle increasing responsibility
- Bachelor's or higher degree or equivalent work experience
