Job Summary
Research Lab Assistant Intern will participate in experiments and fieldwork, including fundamental tasks related to proteins and chemistry (e.g., preparing buffers), assist in data analysis using basic statistics, contribute to lab maintenance and equipment upkeep, and support routine problem-solving related to the project. The internship provides hands-on experience in R&D lab operations, exposure to Lean methodology, and the application of project-management tools, under the guidance of the Lab Supervisor. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to Lab Management projects while gaining experience in a global, multidisciplinary team focused on developing sequencing methods. The program runs for 20 weeks from 14 Sep 2026 to 31 Jan 2027 and is hosted by Illumina with an emphasis on belonging, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
Required Qualifications
- Open to current Diploma students in scientific disciplines such as Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biotechnology
- Organized, excellent laboratory skills
- Meticulous, attentive to details
- Able to communicate effectively with excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Analytical, efficient, problem solver, easily-adaptable, independent but also works well in a team
- Takes initiative, a self-starter, positive, and driven with a “can do” attitude
