Job Summary
Provide metadata editing and deleting, process physical items for collection inclusion, shelve and organize items, facilitate interlibrary loans, assist library patrons with circulation and locating materials, and offer technical support to Federal staff. Support outreach events with the Outreach Coordinator. Requires Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program, customer-service experience, proficiency with OCLC, EndNote, and Integrated Library Systems, and strong communication and MS Office skills. This is a long-term, full-time benefited contract position in Silver Spring, MD with hybrid work arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited university
- Experience working in a customer service capacity
- Experience using OCLC, EndNote and Integrated Library Systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to work well in a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Attention to detail; demonstrated organizational skills
