Job Summary
Lead global cross-functional teams to identify new vaccine target opportunities, deliver initial Target Product Profile/Target Value Proposition, and lay out credible R&D plans to support timely portfolio decisions. Accountable for developing integrated strategy and execution in the research phase, defending project strategy at governance boards, managing multiple stakeholders (including executive levels), and coordinating collaboration with Innovation/Ext R&D, Antigen Design, Global Immunology Functions, and the mRNA Center of Excellence. Requires ownership of project strategy, governance, and input into performance reviews, with a focus on delivering differentiated vaccines for infectious diseases while balancing timelines and budgets. Education/experience requirements include Ph.D./MD/PharmD/MS with 5-8 years vaccine R&D experience; strong leadership; excellent communication; and willingness to travel (~10%).
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in science OR MD OR PharmD OR MS is required
- 5-8 years of experience in vaccine R&D or equivalent in the Vaccine Value Chain
- Strong scientific background with understanding of global vaccine development across the value chain
- Strategic thinking and leadership abilities with business understanding of biopharmaceutical product development
- Excellent communication skills to convey opportunities and challenges to senior stakeholders
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate across functions
- Fluent English (verbal and written) and willingness to travel ~10%
