Job Summary

Conduct research and publish on economic security topics at the intersection of national security and business, including trade, tariffs, supply chains, and critical minerals. Organize bespoke policy workshops, craft public messaging for media engagements, and prepare research grant proposals. Coordinate with government and corporate stakeholders for periodic overseas travel and high-level briefings. Contribute to broader Centre initiatives and conferences while reporting to the Director of Economic Security. Work within a collaborative team in Sydney or Canberra, with part-time arrangements available for experienced candidates.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD
  • demonstrated research and writing skills at the intersection of economics and national security
  • 5+ years experience with policymaking or policy analysis
  • Experience working with the Australian, US, Japanese or other regional governments and private sectors
  • Experience working with international economic institutions such as the World Trade Organization or International Monetary Fund
  • Demonstrated program management and organisational skills
  • A can-do, team-oriented ethos
  • periodic overseas travel
