Job Summary

Role involves establishing, coordinating, and overseeing Cabrini Health's unified program for the acquisition, processing, documentation, and biobanking of human tissue and blood samples collected during routine surgical and pathology procedures. The Research Fellow leads the development of standard operating procedures, ensures compliance with approvals (e.g., Monash Health HREC and Cabrini RGO), and acts as the primary liaison between surgeons, pathology, Biobanking Victoria, other facilities, and internal research teams. The position requires knowledge of biospecimen management, ethics involving human biological specimens, and demonstrated experience in biobanking or clinical research with leadership of operational programs or research teams. Desirable qualifications include postgraduate study in research management or biobanking and experience mentoring others.
