Research Fellow (Power Electronics and Energy Systems)

Job Summary
Research Fellow to design, simulate, and test power electronic converters and control systems for renewable energy, energy storage, and smart grids. Will develop models and prototypes, perform experimental testing and data analysis, and contribute to research proposals, publications, and dissemination of results. Requires hands-on laboratory work with tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSCAD; experience with hardware prototyping and lab testing; collaborate with students, colleagues, and industry partners; ensure laboratory safety and equipment maintenance. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills are essential; independence and teamwork are both valued.
Required Qualifications
- PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field
- Strong background in power electronics, converter design, and control systems
- Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSCAD, or equivalent
- Experience in hardware prototyping, testing, and laboratory experimentation (preferred)
- Prior experience in research proposal writing or technical grant preparation (advantage)
- Good technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
- Strong interest in renewable energy systems, power electronics, and sustainable energy technologies
