Job Summary
Research Fellow position at NTU Singapore in the School of Materials Science and Engineering. Focused on developing sustainable growing media for urban farming; responsibilities include literature reviews, synthesizing/functionalizing/characterizing porous materials (e.g., SEM, XRD, DLS, FTIR, TGA/DSC, ICP-MS), studying degradation and nutrient-release kinetics, correlating material properties with plant growth outcomes (germination, seedling development, crop yields, nutritional profiles), developing scale-up strategies, collaborating with farms and industry partners for large-scale trials, supervising junior staff and student projects, managing lab logistics, and generating progress reports for the Singapore Food Agency under the SFS R&D Programme 2.0. Requirements include a PhD in relevant fields, strong research track record (publications, grants, patents), and experience in biomaterials and related characterization techniques; good communication and project management skills; willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team.
