Research Fellow (In Vivo Neural Tissue Engineering)

Job Summary
Research Fellow to join an interdisciplinary NTU team focusing on neural tissue engineering, in vivo spinal cord injury models, and regenerative biomaterials. Responsibilities include planning and conducting in vivo experiments using rat SCI models, microsurgical procedures, cell/scaffold implantation, and behavioral/functional assessments; performing analyses such as tract tracing, immunofluorescent/histochemical staining, and confocal imaging; RNA-seq data analysis and manuscript preparation; supervising junior researchers and supporting lab management; and collaborating across NTU and external teams. Must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a related field with demonstrated expertise in rodent handling and SCI-related techniques; strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams. Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or a related discipline
- Published experience handling rodents and performing functional/behavioral assessments
- Experience in animal surgery (preferably SCI microsurgery in rodents)
- Experience with tract tracing, tissue sectioning, immunofluorescence, histology, confocal microscopy
- Experience with western blotting and qRT-PCR is advantageous
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Highly motivated, well-organized, capable of independent work and teamwork
