Job Summary

Lead high-quality research in unbalanced inverter control, distributed energy resources integration, and low-voltage distribution network modelling for the CSIRO AR-PST Stage 6 project. Develop innovative inverter control strategies, undertake advanced distribution network simulation, and produce impactful publications, open-source code, and datasets. Co-supervise Honours and Higher Degree by Research students while fostering industry and standards engagement opportunities. Collaborate with CSIRO, inverter manufacturers, and network service providers to translate findings into proposed AS/NZS 4777.2 amendments and practical guidance for industry adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Control Systems or a closely related discipline
  • A growing research profile in power systems, distributed energy resources, inverter control, distribution networks, or related fields
  • Demonstrated publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences
  • Evidence of contributing to collaborative research projects and working effectively with industry, government, or research partners
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to competitive research funding applications and project delivery
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting Honours and Higher Degree by Research students
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical outcomes into practical industry recommendations and standards contributions
  • Verification of the right to work in Australia
