Job Summary
Conduct qualitative user research, including interviews, and design co-design workshops with patients and clinicians. Develop design concepts, mock-ups, and prototypes for the STAND project's "Smart Sock," then lead user testing and evaluation activities. Contribute to research outputs and impact activities while shaping the design, comfort, and usability of the wearable system. Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure the technology maximizes usability and real-world impact for early detection of diabetic foot complications.
Required Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent)
- 1st Class/2.1 Degree in a design related subject
- demonstrable expert knowledge and understanding of design
- experience contributing to the innovation and development of the field
- A strong committment to co-creation and user-centred design
- Experience in qualitative and/or design research methods
- A strong portfolio demonstrating ideation, prototyping, and user testing
- Interest or experience in health, wellbeing, or medical design
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary and international teams
- Understanding and application of research ethics and data management practices
- excellent, high-quality publications in high profile peer reviewed journals
