Job Summary
Contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research at the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health as part of a 2-year fixed-term, part-time role. Lead and deliver high-quality research, design and translate findings to inform policy and community outcomes, publish in peer-reviewed venues, and support mentoring of students and early career researchers. Build partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, health services, government agencies and other stakeholders, while contributing to funding applications and the Centre’s strategic initiatives. The position is designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people under the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act; applicants must demonstrate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity through the University’s criteria. We seek a researcher with demonstrated experience in Indigenous health research, strong methodological skills, and a genuine commitment to improving health outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field or relevant combination of training and experience
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Experience conducting original research within Aboriginal health, public health, medical research or healthcare settings
- A developing research profile and professional network
- Proven ability to supervise, mentor and support students or early career researchers
- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Genuine commitment to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes
