Job Summary
Research and document new ideas by writing product specifications, application notes, white papers, and conference or journal articles on innovative applications. Conduct competitive product analysis while maintaining a working knowledge of SEL products and industry practices. Protect Intellectual Property by drafting patent and copyright applications. Leverage simulation software to analyze power system transients, load flow, and short circuit studies, utilizing analytical tools like Matlab and Simulink. Requires a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience in electric power systems, utility automation, or digital signal processing. Willing to travel 25%. Located in Pullman, WA.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related or equivalent experience
- 2+ years' working knowledge of at least one of the following: - Electric power systems and practices and philosophies - Utility automation and control systems - Utility grade communication schemes - Digital signal processing practices - Statistical analysis and data analytic techniques
- Excellent technical training skills
- Experience with simulation software to analyze power system transients, load flow, and short circuit studies
- Knowledge of power system analysis, power system protection and power system stability
- Experience with analytical tool (Matlab, Simulink, etc)
- Willing to travel 25%
