Job Summary
Leads and executes research projects from conceptualization to commercial production launch, designing and developing new technologies using creative solutions. Evaluates viability of new technologies, collects and presents results, and applies engineering principles to achieve project objectives, including designing and interpreting complex experiments under limited supervision. Trains and mentors junior colleagues, and conducts comprehensive material characterization and surface-chemistry studies using techniques such as IR, Raman, ICP, AAS, TGA, DSC, SEM, XPS, and WAXD to understand structure-property relationships in polymers and rheology. Oversees material selection, process optimization, and scale-up for manufacturing, while staying current with scientific literature, patents, and technical networks to inform future work.
Required Qualifications
- MTech in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Catalysis or Polymer Technology
- >5 years of industrial R&D experience
- design and processing of polymers and rheology of polymer materials
- ability to lead projects and work in multi-disciplinary domains
- expertise with analytical techniques and material characterization (IR, Raman, ICP, AAS, TGA, DSC, SEM, XPS, WAXD)
- excellent professional communication and technical skills
