Job Summary
Lead the development of strategic goals for the Sports Medicine clinical research program and coordinate the synchronization of all research activities under the direction of the Sports Medicine Research Chief. Provide overall supervision and administrative direction for registry/clinical research activities, including oversight of staff, budget management, and timeline execution for pre-award and post-award phases. Manage day-to-day operations such as IT communications, study workflow generation, and database revisions while serving as the primary liaison between investigators, sponsors, and stakeholders. Ensure strict regulatory compliance by conducting internal audits, facilitating IRB applications, and maintaining quality assurance on data integrity. Execute research priorities aligned with departmental goals, report on enrollment performance and metrics to internal and external stakeholders, and develop policies to streamline processes and support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- 7-10 years of experience in clinical research
- 3+ years in management
- Demonstrated clinical research management experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Deep understanding of the drug/device approval process
- IRB processes
- Data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice
- Knowledge of Good Technology Practice
- Proficient use of computers
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, including Epic and Redcap
- Experience in study design
- Grant writing
- Publications
- Knowledge of statistical software
Desired Qualifications
- PhD or MD
- Knowledge of statistical software preferred
