Job Summary
Assist in improving core competence and technology for Tensar manufacturing and product development processes. Responsibilities include prototyping and pilot production of new products, documenting changes, collaborating with leadership on process improvements, and creating or updating process flow layouts. Interns will engage in identifying cost-saving opportunities through quality and safety improvements and will maintain organized documentation of audits performed. Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in materials or polymers, possess proficiency in MS Office, and demonstrate strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to manipulate and utilize Working Drawings
- Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, and self-starter
- Presentation/Report on an improvement project at the end of internship
Desired Qualifications
- Product testing and Research and Development experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of polyolefin or thermoplastic melt extrusion and processing, preferably polypropylene, polyethylene, and PET resins
