Job Summary
Research Coordinator in the Impressionist & Modern Art Department at Christie’s (Temporary) will support cataloguers and specialists with works research for valuation and upcoming sales, including provenance and exhibition history checks, literature verifications, and writing catalogue essays. The role also supports gallery installation for auction previews (lot cards, installation images) and performs ad hoc departmental tasks as assigned, requiring strong research skills, excellent communication, organizational ability, and collaborative work across teams in a high-pressure auction environment. Proficiency in Outlook and Office tools is expected; familiarity with SharePoint and Canvas is a plus. The position is time-bound through December 31, 2026, with a compensation range of $22.00–$24.00 hourly (annualized to $45,760–$49,920) and no relocation assistance indicated.
Required Qualifications
- Research experience in Impressionist and Modern Art
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office (Excel)
- Familiarity with SharePoint and Canvas (a plus)
- Ability to work independently and with multiple teams
- High attention to detail and reliable follow-through
