Research Associate (Writing Focused)

Job Summary
Conduct writing and content creation for faculty book projects, case studies, and articles for Harvard Business Review. Analyze firm profitability data, conduct qualitative interviews, and interpret archival or survey data to support research agendas. Structure complex research concepts into new projects, manage website content, and produce creative interpretations of academic and business literature. Work directly with faculty supervisors on topics central to the HBS research agenda, maintaining high standards for detail, organization, and task completion under tight deadlines. Engage on-site at the Boston campus for a minimum of three days per week to build collaboration with colleagues and constituents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a GPA above 3.5
- Ability to read academic, subject-specific information and write a reasoned and thoughtful analysis, as well as produce a creative interpretation
- Prior experience supporting short form writing and website project management

- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial statements
- Excellent writing skills

- Ability to conduct statistical analysis on firm profitability data
- Prior writing experience
- Comfort in an environment that requires a high level of independence

- Ability to take complex research ideas, concepts, and methodologies and apply them to new projects and situations

- Ability to build trust and collaboration by being present on-site and engaging directly with colleagues and various constituents
